What this bill also did though is restrict the ability for in-home wine tasting companies to do business in Ohio. While the increase to ship is a good thing, the elimination of hundreds of tax-paying independent businesses is a travesty. The governor and the legislature of Ohio need to take a serious look at ALL legislation that passes their desk and be sure they are not eliminating jobs by passing some monopolistic addendums to the law.

Why limit the ability for independent consultants to market in private in-home/office settings? What impact is that going to have to the massive income generated by wine distributors in the state? Are the wine distributors that threatened by individual businesses? It is to their benefit to allow these private businesses to flourish. Increasing wine education will only improve everyone's business and Ohio's tax dollars. The governor needs to rethink that bill and sign an amendment to take out that restrictive language before he starts losing taxpayers and voters!
